I recommend Glen Cronkhite bags. You can find them at www.hornguys.com These cases are tough and have uber padding.

Glen originally manufactured Reunion Blues gig bags. However Reunion Blues were sold or bought out :? and were moved to China. So we have been blessed with Cronkhite cases.

Glen actually designed the bags for Reunion Blues and leased the designs to his former business partner who owned Reunion Blues. The ex-wife of that business partner now owns RB and moved them from San Francisco to China (and now they make shoddy bags). Glen was forced to take legal action against her to prevent her from using his designs. He won, and now he has hired some former RB (SF) employees and moved everything to Berekley. He produces the all of the RB models (including ones that RB had discontinued) and does custom work (something RB never did). Glen also honors all of the lifetime warranties for SF made RB bags.

I own 2 Gronkhite bags and it's probably already apparent that I recommend them. Glen's using better materials than even the old SF RB bags. The new Chinese made bags are awful.

I bought my 1291 from WW&BW a few months ago. Roger Lewis recommended a Reunion Blues bag, so I bought one as part of the deal.

I talked with Glen Cronkite a few years ago, and he said he was making bags here in town (Berkeley). As far as I know, he is still doing that.
