Stores to purchase orchestral(tuba) parts?

Post by jon112780 »

If you were looking for, say 50+ orchestral(tuba) parts that were not in the Torchinsky books, Gordon Cherry's CD-ROM, or the Orchestral Musician's Library CD-ROM(s); where would you go?

These would not be works by obscure composers, but just works by the more prominent composers that for one reason or another, aren't as well-known as some of the others.

Any input would be appreciated!

A lot of parts are rental only. For the rest, I would try:

Hickey's: http://www.hickeys.com/

Luck's: http://www.lucksmusic.net/

Kalmus: http://www.kalmus-music.com/

Be prepared to be surprised at how much they may want for a single part.

Also, make sure you know that the tuba part is worth getting. There is no sense in buying a part and finding out the only thing on the page is TACIT.

I bought all my Orchestral Tuba Parts from:

Edwin F. Kalmus & Co., Inc.
Music Publishers
P.O. Box 5011
Boca Raton, FL 33431
Telephone: (561) 241-6340
Fax: (561) 241-6347
e-mail: efkalmus@aol.com
web: http://www.kalmus-music.com

You can also find out which pieces have tuba parts in the catalog. The catalog has many major works. This company has sold public domain works to many orchestras for a long time.

Order a catalog on their web site.
