Hey, I'm in the same situation, Junior who's going to enter the concerto competition for my youth orchestra in September.

I'm playing the Vaughan William Concerto for it, and I really recommend it. It sounds great and is fun to play.

One thing that will help is if you mention any expected total times or time limits. Perhaps a just a movement will do.
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?
