Jolly Farmer Goes to Town -- Band Accompaniment?

Post by Z-Tuba Dude »

Does anyone know if there is a band accompaniment for the Jolly Farmer? I have had no luck in finding one myself.

Thanks!

I don't think there ever was a commercially available band accompaniment for that Bell arrangement. But I could be wrong.

The Happy Farmer- Band Accompaniment

Post by Stephen Shoop »

I have located a set of band accompaniment parts to The Happy Farmer that was never published. The arrangement was probably done by Paul Lavalle- and was written for the Cities Service Band (Band of America)- for Bill Bell. An inscription in pencil appears at the top of the solo tuba part-- "Bill Bell, 11:00, NBC studios." Joe Tarto's name is on the band accompaniment tuba part. It is a little different than another "better known" version. I am planning to put it on Finale. The arrangement (full score and parts) should be available by August or September.
