You have two choices in Texas, the Texas Music Educator's Association annual meeting in San Antonio, which is held in early February, or the Texas Bandmaster's Association meeting which is held in August. The one TBA conference I attended (16 or 17 years ago) was also in San Antonio, but I don't recall if that is the yearly venue as it is with TMEA. A couple times I was in a group that was performing at the conference and that got me into the exhibition; other times I had to borrow credentials from friends, to the amusement of my other friends within.TubaTuck wrote:Bloke:

Thanks,

The instruments you'll see there tend to the student models, though there will be some professional instruments there. BBb players usually find more to try out than C players, but I've also had no trouble trying F tubas at TMEA (that's where I bought my Yamaha F).
The US Army Band Tuba-Euphonium conference is held at Fort Myer in Artlington, Virginia during the last week in January. It's free and you don't have to be a teacher or military person to attend. You'll have to travel but it's a good road trip if the weather holds--two good driving days from Dallas.
The Internation Tuba Euphonium Association (oh, how it annoys me to type that) has an annual meeting every summer in a different location. They also hold a range of regional meetings. Check out their website, which I'm sure is linked around here somewhere.
