I am not familiar with first manufacturer but have always found success with Blue microphones. they are well made and have a very nice sound. I cannot speak for this exact model, but I imagine it would follow in line when talking about quality.

Blue makes very good stuff throughout their entire line so I would asume that this mic is also good. I would call the forlks at Sweetwater (you can find them on the web). I have bought a ton of struff from them and they have always been straight with me in telling me if one of my selections wasn't the best idea I a had ever come up with. They will also start sending you their free wish book which is full of really cool stuff.
