Nice work ! I was thinking of having some of the Jay/Matt modifications done on my 52J. I played Jay's and the larger 5th valve definitely opens up the horn a bit. Jay also rerouted the 4th valve tubing so that it does not protrude from the side. He has it redirected up the back of the horn. That modification changed the center of gravity, so that the horn feels more balanced on your lap. If I didn't have 2 kids in college...

The rerouting of the tubing through the back is genius. I had the same thought when I tried one out at a local music store that the stuffiness was caused by the 5th valve, as the rest of the horn is basically a King 1241 cut to CC, and my high schools' 1241s played fine.
