BBb to CC is a whole step, so you'd have to be able to cut off enough tubing equal to the length of the first valve tubing. Then you'd have to cut each valve slide down proportionally. Even if you could, you'd be depending on the resulting open accoustics being reasonable, which would would be hit-or-miss unless you've done it a bunch of times to that exact horn.
Bottom line is, don't try this at home, you're more than likely to end up with a very LARGE paper weight.

Cutting a BBb tuba to CC is probably not practical. You would need to remove 2 feet of tubing from the open bugle and also have to cut all of the valve circuits. Removing 2 feet of tubing would certainly put you into having to deal with the conical bores.

It is my understanding that the tuba in question was designed exclusively for church work. It is an especially viable tuba to use when playing "Holy, Holy, Holy."
