Big Bad VooDoo Daddy

Post by Lew »

My wife just gave me the "Save My Soul" CD for my birthday. When I listened to the first number the first thing I heard was tuba and percussion. I noticed the following credit on the liner: JOHN NOREYKO tuba and sousaphone. I don't find it to be their best CD, but it's a fun listen, and nice work John.

I don't know beans about BBVD, but Noreyko is a stud. He's a founding member of the Side Street Strutters, a jazz band that worked at Disneyland in Anaheim, CA, for years, and, hopefully, still are there today. They tour occasionally, and if you see that they're playing anywhere near you, check 'em out. Hot band. In their original incarnation, it was all Arizona State guys. Rob and Vinny Verdi, Joey Sellers, can't remember the rest off the top of my shaved head...
