Only a certain movement

Post by Mark »

I was listening to Tuba Tracks and thinking that I really liked the second movement from Sonatine by Casterede. This is the only movement that Pokorny put on the CD. There are at least two other fine recordings of the entire Casterede work, one by Toby Hanks and one by Velvet Brown.

Both Hanks and Brown play this piece very well. But, I just don't like the first and third movements.

Are there multiple-movement works where you only like one movement?

Henry Litolff's Concerto Symphonique No. 3 is rarely performed in its entirety. Usually only the Scherzo is heard.
