This was a York High/Low pitch adapter (pat. 1910).

If you bypass the loop (making the horn shorter) then it should be in High Pitch (almost a half tone sharp to A=440).

If you use the loop, then the horn should be in Low Pitch (modern A=440)
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?
