Bump to the top - this is a must hear for anyone who hasn't yet (even if the trombones are just a little bit loud

) The flawless woodwinds and virtuosic strings are not to be overlooked as well.

Side rant: I am tired of every clown with a B.Mus. out there who thinks that "the greats" of yesteryear would be hacks today. While styles may have changed over the years, true musical greatness is timeless.

Amen brother! Those guys knew exactly what their job was supposed to be in a symphony orchestra and they let nothing get in the way of them doing it, on or off the stage. No petty nonsense, no BS, just show up prepared and blow. What a sound!

Oh yeah... good clip. Significant lack of suckage. Also, I love how it ends and then YouTube puts up options for what you might view next. The first is Tannhauser, pt. 2, and the second is one of the VSU Horsepower clips. Solid.

If I tell him that, he'll suggest that the reason I have to take so many breaths is that my buzz is too damn inefficient and I'm producing too little sound for the air that I'm attempting to move.

And then he would say that breathing is one thing, but losing time while breathing because I'm too slow turning the breathing muscles around is another thing entirely.

But I could counter that the transcribed string bass parts we are playing weren't intended for fat, middle-aged boneheads.
