Patrick Sheridan recital

Post by Chadtuba »

I just came from a recital put on by Patrick Sheridan in Grand Junction, CO. He is the guest soloist for the HS honor band sponsored by Mesa State College this weekend and all I have to say is wow  . I brought up 6 of my students for the honor band and couldn't wait to hear Sheridan perform. He did things on a tuba that I didn't know were possible. If you ever get the chance to hear him he is simply amazing and an absolute showman. He played so great music, but all the talking that he did in between songs was all geared towards the HS students and trying ot keep their interests and I must say, he did just that.

Question, does anybody know what horn he uses? I wasn't close enough to get a good look, but I do know that it is an Eb, but that's all I know. Thanks!

It's a Besson 983 eb that he plays on.

Dang-it! His website does not show performances and I would have definately gone to see him at Junction...

Is he playing anywhere else in Colorado?
