Cronkite bags

Post by tclements »

I have been using his bags since he was associated with Reunion Blues. Actually, when RB decided to make tuba bags, they contacted me to get instruments around which they could build bags. The first bags were the 186, 184, Mirafone F, Yamaha 321 Eb bags. Then I got them a Mirafone 190, HB2, HB2P and Rudy 5/4. Then I got them a Yorkbrunner and a B&S F. Also, I got the a couple of euphoniums, 321, Hirsbrunner and Besson. I suggested the permanent backpack straps, leather protector on the bottom (to protect the zipper) and removable music folio. After the spilt, I got Glen the Alexander tubas, the Gronitz tubas, the Yamahas (822, 621) and the new Mirafone models (191, 1291 & Firebird).

As for protection, I have no problem putting my PCK in the Cronkhite bag & lashing it on to the back of my Harley and schleping it to work.

they may have pre-made patterns for gig bags but for cases that aren't offered, they can still make you a bag. you have to remember that all of the bags are CUSTOM MADE. glenn cronkhite is a musician also and knows that your instrument is your life. he keeps your instrument protected with an exact bag that fits and keeps your horn from getting beat up. i contacted him about getting a top loading bag and he said he could do it. and hey, the bags look amazing. one of the trumpets and the trombone player in my quintet have bags made by him and they are AMAZING. contact him and he'll prolly be able to answer any questions you have.

Cronkhite gig bags

Post by Norlan Bewley »

They are great gig bags. I've had one for my HP Holton tuba for 8 years now and it's still going strong. I use them for my trombones and euphoniums as well. I highly recommend them!
I've never had a custom bag done by him, but he offers that service.
