I suspect that it would be difficult to do anything with the second slide given its placement. It is tucked right in between the first and third (which are very easily accessible), and is considerably shorter. Seems like many of the MW F tubas now come with a slide moving gadget (sorry, I forget what the technical term is) on the second slide. That might be the way to go (although to be honest, I don't think I would have a use for one on my horn, unless I was really attached to a couple of 1-2 combinations that I've had to abandon in favor of 3)
I can't comment on the fifth slide extension. Would you use 5 alone for the third partial E also?
anyone tried extending the fifth valve slide on M-W 2141 Eb?
