MTSU Faculty Brass, "Live in Studio C"

Post by mdc2d »

Listen to the Middle Tenn. State Univ. Faculty Brass Quintet on a rebroadcast of "Live in Studio C" out of Nashville. The quintet is performing along with other members of the Stones River Chamber Players.

Works by Anthony Plog, Don Freund, and Edmund Haynes.

Go to the link and click "Listen" (about half way down the page).

Members of the Quintet include:
Mike Arndt, Jeff Bailey, trumpets
Radu Rusu, horn
Dave Loucky, trombone
Gilbert Long, tuba

(Don't get discouraged, the BQ is after the woodwind quintet! Its well worth the wait!)

That would be extremely impressive. I have never had the opportunity to perform the Hindemith due the fact that no piano player around me was ever willing to even attempt it. Hindemith is legendary for his piano accompaniments. Even in ancient times....

Yes, those were excerpts from "Springsongs". I believe you remember correctly, the tuba part is in tenor clef for the last note, I believe it is a middle C. Pretty crazy....
