Where is Burt Strompf ?

I have a very fine LP from I think 1970 or so, with a very spcial Trio. The tuba player is Burt Strompf.. I very much like his legato style, and his sound fits good into the trio.

I was searching around on the net but couldnt find any infos about this fine tubaplayer.
Do you maybe know more about him?
