What Solo Are YOU Working On?
Hey, I just thought it would be interesting to see what major solo literature everyone has been working on, and I also am working on my solo library.
Feel free to name any solo work you are currently working on or one that was a favorite from years past. Thanks

We Creekers are in the studio recording 10 tunes (8 origionals). I don't have as many tuba solos as I did on our live album but these are quite demanding. We're using a larger ensemble on this recording so I am scrambling to simplify my lines and make room for the additional players.
I may have to use my (new?) bass guitar for extra bottom on some tunes and to fill in where the tuba jumps up to solo.

I'm playing Uber's Legend of the Purple Hills for my jury on Tuesday.
I've also been briefly looking at the Eugene Anderson Tuba Concerto and the Bach Cello Suite #1.
In the past couple of years I've played through the Koestier, Broughton, Gregson, Mozart Horn Concerto #4, Bach Flute Sonata, and the Halsey Stevens. A bunch of fun pieces.

currently:
Galliard Sonata #1
The Old grumbly bear
Stars and Stripes forever
In a few weeks my high school is doing our spring concert which will be my last, and my band director is Featuring me with the old grumbly bear, and thought it would be a nice touch to let me play the picc solo in stars and stripes. so it should be fun.

Currently on my stand... Gearing up for the studio for my first solo CD to be released in Fall!
Sonata Ritmico... Sy Brandon
1st part, Ludus... Vaclav Nehlybel
Variations on Barnacle Bill, the Sailor.. (though, this one is also completely in my head) (God, I wish there was more room up there! I've got a small head)
Ballade... Jan Krzywicki
Sketches.. Michael McFarland
Three Amusement Park Pieces... Sy Brandon
**An unnamed sketch soon to be finished by a good friend and very talented composer, Scott Wise.**
Keep your eyes/ears alert for more announcements regarding the disc. I'll record this summer, with a release in Fall.
