BOTH are extremely expensive. Miraphone parts are premium, and are only getting worse with the Euro.


Knoxville is a long ways from Memphis, but if you go there I bet Bloke will make sure you get the job done right.

When my fifth valve linkage was broken on one of my 186s in Indonesia 12 years ago, I described the problem and it was sent FREE. I attempted to pay for it but the money was sent back.

Why not order the generic rotary springs from Ferree's Tools? Why do they have to be Miraphone springs? :?

Coming back to one after being away for decades, and then trying a lot of other instruments in the meantime, including Yammy, MW, Rudy, all the domestic pistons, and others, I gotta go with bloke on this one.

Eh, you're probably onto something. I find that with the generic springs, I have to "toast" them a bit with the torch to get them just right.

I just don't play enough rotary tuba, I guess.
