wow, thanks for that site! i really had no idea that Lebdedev and Blazhevitch were related.

Tubist Alexei K. Lebedev was the "grandson" of the celebrated Blazhevitch...

well......when they put it in quotations like that, are they saying that they really dont share the same bloodline?

I believe this was explained on the website. He was not a bloodline relative. He was a "grandson" in the sense of who studied with whom. At least, that is how I understood it.

I did the Lebedev Concerto (which goes by many names--I played a Russian edition which I bought in East Berlin) for my Senior Recital in college. I didn't know anything about him (Alexei Lebedev) until long after I graduated.
