Cerveny Junior BBb-Tuba CBB 471-4G

There's a picture of it here:

Looks like an Amati-type main bugle with a Cerveny valve section (maybe based on their .630" bore Kaiser bariton?).

I think that horn "is what it is" : a children's horn. 32" tall and a smallish bore that can be filled easily and handled easily. At my school, I saw two 5th grade girls (10-11 years old) playing horns- one on souzy, the other playing a toploader baritone. They were both just playin' up a storm but the girl with the baritone looked comfortable and happy while the girl with the souzy looked kinda happy but the big horn was awkward.

A standard argument of tuba pedagogy is "what horn to start on?" This looks like a decent choice for those who want to start kids on a BBb.

Looks like a rotary version of those tiny front action Yamaha tubas they used to make - ybb-102 or 103 something. They weren't the greatest BBb tubas, but they were the greatest tubas to start a little kid on.
