very easy tuba quartet needed

Post by MikeMason »

I'm doing a camp next week where an unknown number of middle school tuba and euphers will have to put together a piece to perform in 2 1.5hr rehearsals.Something light and fun with easy ranges.Any suggestions?Prefer something to download, doesn't need to be free.Looked on cimarron and most of the stuff looks a little too hard...

There is an arrangement of In the Hall of the Mountain King by Robert Wilkinson that is not too difficult. Cimarron is the publisher.

easy quartets

Toby Shucha's "American Spirituals for the Young Tuba Ensemble" was designed with this kind of group in mind. It's a book of 12 quartets of easy/medium difficulty for middle/high school players. Available from Beautidel Music Press.

On the Cimarron site:

http://www.cimarronmusic.com/

Search for arrangers Shoop or Geese. The Shoop pieces were arranged specifically for this type of ensemble. The arrangements from Ron Geese were done for a community band group. I think these would work for you as well.

Many of these can also be found digitally here:

http://www.freehandmusic.com/

Please email privately if you need a longer score to look over.

I was curious if anyone had any comments on buying digital vs. hard copy music?

Very Easy Tuba Quartet Needed

Post by Stephen Shoop »

Hi:

I have several listed on "the auction site" right now that would fit the bill. I would especially recommend "A Little Hymn." A little more challenging would include "Bendemeer's Stream" and/or "Three Southern Hymns." Please let me know if I can help. Steve
