I just received word that Bill Barber passed away this morning.
For those that don't know, he was tubist for Miles Davis and Gil Evans, amongst many others.

I am planning a tribute concert for Bill Barber sometime next semester here at Eastman. It will be an evening celebrating the tuba in jazz. Can anyone tell me what else Bill Barber has played on, or other notable tuba jazzers I should check out?
