Tuba competitions

Post by Tubaguy56 »

Hi Everyone,

So, I've been hearing alot about various Tuba/euph competitions as of late, and, just for my own curiosity, was wondering what kinds of competitions are out there, where they are, requirements, etc. Thanks in advance!

There is a tuba and euphonium solo competition in Australia in late September as part of the excellent Melbourne International Festival of Brass. Jens Bjorn Larsen is the main judge and also the featured teacher/solo performer this year.

The repertoire and information is at http://mifb.com.au/pages/competitions.php. Check out the other interesting stuff going on in the Festival - I wish I could go!

Why limit to just tuba competition? Go for the gusto and enter any music competition.

Amongst aviators it is often said that any landing you can walk away from is a good landing. It's an even better landing when you can reuse the airplane.
