I usually print out what I'm working on frequently, if I don't have it already, but i do have the tendency to use my laptop in a practice room. Plus I've got a metronome on my laptop so it works out pretty well!

Obviously you don't have that option, but that's what I like to do. I do have a nice big binder full of orchestral excerpts.

I just print out the tuba parts as I need - probably less than dozen pieces per year.

Basically just print as needed. For a student I would guess you would learn 1 excerpt every 2 weeks or so.so, maybe 15 per year as a student.Like Neptune,I probably do maybe 6-8 tunes with important tuba parts per season, many of which are already in the Torchinsky books I own.Or,as a major project, you could take some time and print say the top 50 and bind them for study.

I gather 3 trombone buddies and raise the roof off the studio. A good deal of fun to be had, for sure!! I also will be using excerpts with my Brass Choir this year. This CD eliminates much of the hassle!
