Mouthpiece Plating

Post by BrownHammer »

Can anyone please tell me where I can contact a good mouthpiece plater in the Dallas/Fort Worth area? I'd also be happy to mail my mouthpieces off somewhere as long as it doesn't take too long and isn't too expensive. I'm looking for a gold plating that won't wear off within a few years. Thanks.

I don't know about Dallas/Ft Worth, but I sent my Curry 128D off to Matt and Vladimir at Dillon Music for a rim modification and they silverplated it in house after the mod. I didn't ask about gold, but it's worth an email to Matt to ask. The cost was very reasonable, and the workmanship superlative, and the turnaround amazingly short. For only @ $7 or $8 shipping each way in addition to the reasonable cost, it was definitely worth having it done by them. Of course, there's also Anderson, but the turnaround may be a little longer. I've also heard Mouthpiece Express has a service, but I'm not familiar with it or its details.

I've had several mouthpieces plated through Mouthpiece Express and have been very happy with the results. You should contact them on a timeline as they do them in batches.
