GATO LOCO *CD Release Party*

Post by tubajoe »

...abruptly returning from my new-to-paternity brief hiatus...

The crazy band Gato Loco is having its CD Release party Wednesday night in Brooklyn, NY. It's a fun band with tuba on the bass end... sort of a latin-influenced continuation of the trouble that the Lounge Lizards started many years ago.

Gato Loco "On Parade" -- a self-produced/created/glued-together cd, that includes live moving action-figures, cuban cigar boxes, and painted art work -- all included along with 44 min's of mass-hysterical cuban spy-music renditions of 1950's cartoon theme music. It is available ONLY at shows for now, so swing on by.

Great sounds, Joe. I like the band and your performance on tuba sounds great.
Did you write your own lines?

thanks!

Most of the lines are just whatever I pulled out of my a** at that given moment  -- unless specifically suggested or are part of the melody, etc. Most of the parts are just approximations.... that usually change on the bandstand -- and dont really ever sound the same twice, (be it good or bad...that’s the fun of this project). This stuff was all recorded live for the most part in just a take or two... the bandleader likes the old-school rawness of it.
