This is a brand new transcription done in-house by Don Patterson. No wire choir, no swastikas. There's a fair amount of old-school band rep on this tour. I'm looking forward to the programs. Check out http://www.marineband.usmc.mil/calendar/ and click around on the October and November dates to get an advance look at the repertoire. Lots of solid stuff this year.bloke wrote:The Memphis Symphony has an *old OLD OLD edition of this. They play it at kiddie concerts, sometimes. I'm pretty sure that the "wire-band" orchestration doesn't call for a tuba, as I seem to recall having covered the bass 'bone part at the kiddie concerts I've done with them.

Cameron Gates, Paul Mergen, yours truly. It's going to be fun in the back row.runelk wrote:Who's in the tuba section for the tour?
The PAO gang is finishing the website updates this week, and I believe all of the tour information is online now. We're definitely going to be in Connecticut. My little brother lives near Hartford, and I'll be counting on getting a few loads of laundry done while we're in the neighborhood.

The calendar has all the program info, too. Find the concert dates in your area and go to the calendar to see what has been programmed for those dates.scottw wrote:Ignore the body of the page and the cute li'l map. Click on "tour itinerary" button in the upper left of the page and simply scroll down to Conn. Government!Art Hovey wrote:I'm confused. The website says the band will visit Connecticut, but no concerts are scheduled....

We are underway. Just finished the first concert in Chambersburg, PA. Full house, too. The gang back in D.C. was busy today helping to install a new Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and they've got a parade in Quantico on Wednesday morning.
Next stops are all PA stops... Lebanon, Wikes Barre, and Lewisburg.
Gary is almost to $4300--hook him up.
