What Tuba?
The Effie Suite Was commisioned by Harvey Philips. He alwyas played on a Conn CC Contra Bass tuba, using a Conn 2 mouthpiece, as I understand it. It was undoubtedly intended for him to play on such a tuba. It is not a challenge, at all, on a BBb or a CC. I am sure it would also sound fine on any kind tuba but that was not the question, was it?
Always make a good sound; audiences will forget if you miss a note but making a good sound will get you the next job.
