Cleveland, OH TubaChristmas '07 w/ Dr. Fred Young

Post by Tubaryan12 »

I walk in to my seat at TubaChristmas today, and there is a huge horn sitting on it's bell. I think to myself "that looks like a double tuba". Then I turn around a little later and it's Dr. Young, all the way from Pittsburg, to play our TubaChristmas. Too cool! 8)

On a side note, I got to look down the business end of a Dr. Young mouthpiece today. OMG is that thing HUGE!....and the throat on that thing looks almost as large as the receiver on my horn.

I really have to start bringing my camera to these things.

I was at Cleveland also, and found Dr. Young to be friendly and very informative concerning his double horn. His instrument is even more beautiful in person than in photos. He says he is now designing a double euphonium.
