Bach Cello Suites

Post by Bill Troiano »

Does anyone know whether the Bach Cello Suites have been recorded by any artist on solo euphonium or tuba? I'm specifically looking for Suite No. 2. Thanks!

Kevin Thompson / Bach Cello on Euphonium

Take a look at this website

http://www.euphplayer.com/

Kevin is a very fine musician. He does circular breathing flawlessly, making for some very fne lines.

As a Bass Trombone player I have spent many frustrating but worthwhile hours alone in a practice room with the suites and this reminds me why I do it. Wow! This is really musical! It's amazing what you can do with the phrasing when you don't have to write in breaths.
I am fortunate to have a great job that feeds my family well, but music feeds my soul.

Mark Lusk of Penn State has recorded two of the five suites on bass trombone. The CD along with transcriptions of all six suites can be bought at the Hickey's website.
