Euphonium adon?

Post by BopEuph »

I was wondering if there was a product that adds the main tuning slide kicker to a euphonium, like the trigger on the Bessons. My sixth partial is so sharp, it would be nice to have the little extra help on my Willson. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

There seems to be a problem with contacting Custom, though. The link seems to be dead. Though, I think it's specifically for the Besson models.

I wonder if there's one that doesn't have to include soldering, as that seems a bit harsh. If it does need to be soldered, I take it a good repairman could do it without hurting the surrounding silver plating?

25 or 30 years ago (or so) Jack Holland had "Pitch Finders" installed on all the instruments in the Jack Daniels Silver Cornet Band. I have no idea if someone took over the manufacturing of those after his death but might be worth looking in to. I don't think they were a permanent fixture on the horns - something that could be removed, if I'm not mistaken.

When I bought my Prestige several years ago, one of the cornetists in our quartet was blown away by the tuning slide mechanism. He used to play in the Jack Daniels Band when Holland had installed the similar devices.

Thanks. I found a working email address to the Custom Music company shop and sent off an inquiry.

As to the pitch finder, all I could find was what I think was a trumpet version of the product. I am going to wait to see what Mr. Powers replies with.
