G & W MMVI - F

Post by TubaSailor »

If you like the CC rim, certainly try the F - I use them both, and it's worked out quite well. When I first purchased it, I had a concern about the apparently small throat on the F, but I've been pleasantly surprised how well it plays - good bottom end. I think Mr. Giddings made these two mouthpieces to play as similar as possible, given the different size / pitch / horn constraints that had to be addressed. - The CC makes the large horn sound larger, and the F makes the horn sound like an F - not like a smaller CC. I'm probably going to start selling off everything else and just keep these two - I've been expermenting. :tuba:
