No, we just get invited every year, and we go. Great crowd. They cheer loudly when we play, "In Heaven There Is No Beer." Then we go out to the local Shrine Club and have a great feast of all the traditional fare. I'm really going to miss going this year, because it is the centennial celebration of the campus. It will probably be flowing down the streets, if you know what I mean!windshieldbug wrote:... must be an engineer, theniiipopes wrote:I clicked the wrong tick, I should have clicked not available instead of just no.![]()

Notice who I was quoting. I seriously, doubt that serious musician has received any serious remuneration. Except -- he may have been offered a serious waiver of tuition for marching in his college marching band. I'm sure, he was much too serious to accept that. Yes, I'm serious.bloke wrote:Serious musicians march for serious remuneration.

Re: marching
Let's see, not being a "professional" musician at the present time: free ride up & back, including cartage for the souzy, sit on a flatbed trailer to play instead of actually marching, call it off if it's too cold, lots of free food, good beverages and company, and a good long day out of the house -- good pay to me.TubaRay wrote:That's what I would require. That's what I heard...but it seems a little odd. I guess it just struck me as funny.KevinMadden wrote:these organizations usually sell the cars...not give them to the blindtubaguy9 wrote: The most hippocritical billboard? It was asking for car donations, and was for some association for the blind.
And hey, anyone can drive, but it's a different story if they're any good, and/or are legal.
I think I might end up as a grumpy old man when I get old...
