Hi Cody,

I went to the RMBI last year and I am going again this year!

You get to spend a week with some of the top performers and teachers in the country. It is a great experience, and I don't think you would regret going.

You get a lot of one on one time with the faculty, and if you feel the need for more one on one time with a certain member you can set-up a private lesson with them.

If you have more specific questions just p.m. me,

I'm going (Roadtrip!). Kathy Brantigan, Daniel Perantoni, and Robert Tucci are the (tentative) tuba faculty this summer.

The RMBI website isn't very informative as far as the day-to-day activities of the week; do the participants play in ensembles or just attend masterclasses, lectures, take lessons, and attend concerts?

Hi,

Last year it was set up to where you can participate in a tuba masterclass everyday of the week, with a different tuba faculty member. So one day Mr. Perantoni will teach, the next day Mrs. Brantigan will teach, etc.

You are also put in two ensembles. Brass quintet and large brass ensemble that are coached by a faculty member.

When you are not playing in a masterclass or in an ensemble they hold masterclasses/lectures on a multitude of different subjects pertaining to brass and the music business. You can also observe Summit Brass rehearsals throughout the week, and there was a concert everynight of the week as well.

This is the way it was set up last year, so I just assume it will be similar to that again this year.

If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to p.m. me.

Hope this helps,

For what its worth, if you have a chance to study with Bob Tucci, take it. Just a fantastic experience.
