elgar cello concerto orchestration

Does the Elgar Cello Concerto have a tuba part? I'm in an orchestra that is performing this in November. Do I have anything to worry about?

On a side note, is there a website that offers searchable orchestrations for pieces?

Yes, there is a tuba part. Nothing special to the part, assuming you are a reasonably competent player. Enjoy the music-----it's a gorgeous work.

Fantastic piece. The Kalmus publisher's web site has a searchable database although the search engine is very fiddly to use. It has come in handy for many obscure pieces and some well-known ones too. Of course they don't publish everything. John

We're playing Elgar's Cello Concerto in E minor this Wednesday, actually, along with the Enigma Variations. Enigma has a decent tuba part, but the cello concerto is pretty sparse. My quick estimate is that you play in about 30 measures out of 400-500, & all of those measures are pretty much normal range 1/8th notes.

Just FYI, the highest note is a mid-staff E & lowest is Ab hanging off the bottom -- easy stuff
