Re: Broughton Sonata Recordings
Phil Sinder has done it. It is on his CD "Aerodynamics". I also heard a few other versions, none that I can remember though...so hard for me to say what I like more. Though, I really enjoy Professor Sinder's recording.....probably cause I'm a little biased.

Re: Broughton Sonata Recordings
I'm sure a google search could come up with a lot. This is a popular piece and sort-of a standard. So I am sure there is plenty to choose from.richland tuba 01 wrote:Thanks, I've been searching for this as well. I love playing it. My teacher told me Velvet Brown did a recording as well...

Re: Broughton Sonata Recordings
I have a bootleg recording of Tommy Johnson performing it with a wind band. I don't know how I got it, but it is a great one if you can find it.

Velvet Brown recorded it for her CD "Velvet." It's a great disc, and a great interpretation of the piece.

Re: Broughton Sonata Recordings
I will be recording the Broughton Concerto with the Iceland Symphony next season with a few other american concertos. The conductor will be trombonist, conductor, and composer Christian Lindberg. The cd will be on the Albany label. I hope the cd is out by late next season.
