hi rick

You're right about the Rudy (about that native bearers...) , but Mr Meinl Jr. placed the thing on my lap and all I had to do was blow, so I was lucky.
At first the instrument looked like I could use a spare pair of lungs, or an air compressor ...
But strange enough it took very little effort to blow it, every bit of air seemed to be directly converted into sound.
There's something special about that instrument that makes it so responsive, but I did not figure out what it was.

A fafner for example took far more effort to blow, and the compensating besson 994 (new design) and York equivalent seemed to empty my lungs already long before I was able to make sound. It took a while to get used to that.

If only that Rudy existed in piston valve configuration...

Please do share Rick - that would be fascinating to see!
