Online tuba videos

Post by bluesteel »

Hi everyone,

I don't know if anyone has seen the website http://www.themusicpage.com" target="_blank" target="_blank ?

It's got some really cool videos of Oystein Baadsvik, Jens Bjorn-Larsen and the most amazing Carnival of Venice for tuba that I've ever heard!! There's stuff from MNOZIL brass on there as well... those guys are amazing.

http://www.themusicpage.com/hearAudio.php?v=509" target="_blank" target="_blank is the Carnival of Venice. Seriously I have never ever heard anyone tongue this fast :tuba:

http://www.themusicpage.com/showVideos.php?v=100" target="_blank" target="_blank is Oystein doing Fnugg with a brass band.

These guys also do live streaming of music stuff... They're doing Canadian Brass later this week as well as Spanish Brass from the Belgian Brass Academy. Looks awesome!

Well, I think it's cool anyway...but I'm a brass / tuba nerd

Yeah, there's some neat stuff out there! I have collected many on my site (38 so far) and I am always on the lookout for more. The page is here:

http://www.dwerden.com/music-videos/tub ... videos.cfm

They are all wrapped in a cute little video viewer. Artists include Roger Bobo, Tim Buzbee (Principal Tuba Iceland Symphony), Canadian Brass (Chuck featured, of course), Mike Roylance, Oystein, Eli Newberger, Japanese Tubaman, Joe Murphy, James Gourlay, John Fletcher, Pat Sheridan (Sousaphone) with Sam Pilafian (marching baritone), and others. Oh, and there is some Ophicleide action as well.

I don't see how the tuba player can run and jump around and still play so well. Is that an F tuba he's playing?
