"Three Furies" horn of choice?

I've been practicing the Grant piece "Three Furies" the last week or so, playing it on both of my horns, (CC and F.) During my last practice session, I got to wondering, "I wonder what other people prefer to use for this piece..." Hence, this poll. I'm curious to see if there is a consensus out there when it comes to this piece. After doing it on both horns, I'm leaning towards the F tuba. It seems like the range of the piece lies better on the F, (provided I don't crap out on the relatively low stuff.)

I believe Mark Nelson recorded that piece on his F tuba. He commissioned it and would probably have a lot of insight he would be willing to share. Google his website and ask him. He is all about getting more works for tuba out there, and he is a great guy.

I've heard the furies performed on both cc and f and my vote would be f no question. The only person i've heard that really did the piece justice on cc was Fritz Kaenzig, but that's not to say you can't. Learning this piece will help with weaknesses on either horn.

As I recall (and this might be faulty) I believe Tim Buzbee played the snot out of it on his hand made Baer CC. It was great to see him, even briefly, at ITEC. Stay at it Tim - you're sounding great.

The answer to this question is - whatever horn you feel most comfortable on and can get YOUR music across to the listener. I would probably prefer a CC tuba, but would play it on both to see which is easier.
