Re: John Fletcher on YouTube
Thank you for this - I didn't know there was video of Fletch, but more, that my Bass Trombone teacher was in there too (Ray Premru). I miss him. Such a sadness that they're not with us anymore.
Great ensemble and players.

Are these videos commercially available now?
Thank you so much for posting these! I'm a huge fan of PJBE and have looked for video online for ages and finally there are some to watch.

Re: John Fletcher on YouTube
Somewhere out there in videoland, in the past, on a public channel, I saw a feature named, "The Band", about the LSO. Several of it's members spoke, including Fletch, about playing with the orchestra, doing Star Wars(including a studio clip on the big Holton), and playing the tuba in particular. He was sitting in his studio with all his horns lined up. Also, I remember a spot where the principal trumpet was preparing to do a concerto while watching TV. Good stuff. If anyone knows where and how to get this show, let us all know.

Interesting to see that Fletch often lifts his fingers off the valves, in particular the 3rd valve. I have been told to avoid that by teachers in the past

Heard from a friend that had had a very excited Michael Laird and John Miller (PJBE members) phone him last week to tell him they were on YouTube. They seem amazed that people have videos of PJBE!

Wow. Still one of the best who ever lived. I was really pleased to see someone play Don Swann's "Two Moods". There is a piece that has fallen out of favor for no apparent reason. Nice to see someone took the time to do a brass band arrangement. I hope this serious, fun, and not very easy piece comes back to the repertoire.
