Hello all,
I have an excerpt for the loca youth orchestra from the Franck Symphony and I have no idea where it is. It's in cut time. Starts on a middle D quarter note slurred to an A half note then down to an Eb quarter. Next bar is a D half tied to a C# half. Continues on like this for a while. This all begins at letter "U" If anyone can tell me which movement this is from and where I can find a recording, it would be most appreciated. Thanks very much!
Cheers,
Kory

Does anyone have a recording of the Monteux CSO recording they would be willing to share?

Kory,
End of the first movement. Touchy lick in unison with the bass bone. Good luck.

Could have been Ellis or Denis Miller. That was his first year with the OSM.

Since the year of the recording, as you cite it, is 1989, there is a good chance that the tubist was Dennis Miller rather than Ellis as Dennis became a member of the OSM that same year.Greg wrote: The performance is by Montreal with Dutoit conducting.... It was recorded in 1989 so I think it would have been Ellis Wean playing and he sounds superb.
