I still have my original Thor brand hammer (one side copper, one side hide, around a steel core and hickory handle) that I use to knock off the hubs of my August, 1967 E-type convertible (the last month the left-hand drive models bound for the USA had the covered headlights, 3 SU carburettors, and full 9:1 domed pistons to get the maximum horsepower out of 100 octane leaded premium gasoline, or 5-star as it was graded in the UK, and yes, I researched the serial number at the Browns Lane Coventry factory in November 1990) in order to change tires.
I just read an essay on this the other day. Same name, too. Anyway, Meinl Weston insured that tuba would draw attention through that name, 'cause let's be honest w/ ourselves...we all want to imagine ourselves as Thor the god of thunder, pounding away to Ride of the Valkyries.
