You probably will have to order it directly. With the current exchange rate it looks like app. $50.00+ shipping. I, and other dealers, have dealt with them in the past and have given up. The discount is low, the prices are high which makes it hard to sell and the shipping is even higher. Put another way, I lost money every time I placed an order. If I wasn't losing money, I would love to stock their music because it very good and popular as well!

Good luck!

This page was found via Google and one search within the site of the edition.

And aren't you a descendent of Prof. Higgins of musical fame?

The price and shipping is absolutely ridiculous on that. Does anybody have a copy that they wouldn't mind parting with?
Good luck finding a copy in the US. As I mentioned, I don't know any dealer who deal with them so I am guessing there are very few who actually have a copy.

I have done and still do some imports from the US, but only things not available at sensible prices on my own continent. Cross-Atlantic dealing is costly.

However you might contact the edition and tell them, that you are willing to pay the price of a paper copy, if they will mail you the music in .pdf-format.

They probably will whine about the impossibility of that form of distribution, but then just tell them, that German Brass is in high esteem in the US and everywhere serious brass music is played. Tell them that they will multiply their turn-over, if international (that is non-German in this context) brass players can acquire the music via the www and pay by means of VISA or whatever cards that may be applicable. The costs of money transfer are just one more sort of poison for the trade of smaller items, which cannot justify too much overhead.

I became excited about this piece several years ago after reviewing Walter Hilgers' Tubadour CD for the TUBA Journal. After a long period of getting no response from Lydke Publications, I was finally able to secure a copy through the good offices of Bob Tucci. The same story with Crespo's wonderful Suite Americana #1 for quintet. By the time I finally got them, I hardly even noticed that they were frightfully expensive. I have found them to be worth every pfennig. Bob is very well connected for locating hard-to-find items.

I only can concur about anything nice said about Mr. Tucci, and I should have thought about him.

But then another American brass player in Europe, Mr. Thompson, solo horn in Barcelona, may be even faster and may present smoother logistics. His company has offices in Spain and in the US. Their site has this address:

Maybe they already have the music in question in stock.
