Post by Kory101 »

Could someone tell me what the low brass roster for this recording was?

Cheers,

IIRC:

Jay Friedman
Michael Mulcahy (?)
Charles Vernon
Arnold Jacobs
Rex Martin

Song and wind should reference at least the tuba situation. This work is fairly popular in terms of brass playing even outside of the realm of brass players.

This is one of the works that requires you to either purchase expensive audio reproduction equipment, or at least travel to a high end store to at least hear the coda of the finale. A pair of good quality headphones will also serve very nicely, but the sonic expanse of this recording works very well on a big system.

You forgot at least three, (possibly four) trombone players, Jim Gilbertsen and Jeff Taylor were two of them. The piece calls for six trombones. Don't know if Jay used an assistant.

Two Tubas? I thought it only called for one.
