Agreed. We sell lots of them to schools. We even use it in our rental fleet, and it holds up well.

I dislike the Yamaha ybb-621 hand position - strains my wrist, unless I hold my elbow out, which I call the "accordion hold".

The Weril j680 has the valves mounted higher and slanted so it's a comfy hold with no wrist strain. Also gives the younger player a little more leverage to hold the horn up.

Hard to tell without a play test, but it looks like they've re-designed the horn to be closer to the Yamaha, so the valve cluster is lower and more vertical, like the ybb-621.

The reconfigured J680 has the right hand position lower so that the first valve tubing is all up. That may help prevent water accumulation, but I doubt if the slide can be pulled very far (as Bloke suggests) because it would hit the bell. The second valve slide, which was very useful in the original design, is no longer accessible while plalying. They have also redesigned the 4th valve tubing, which did need improvement. The original had the 4th slide down near the bottom right (audience view) and it had to be pulled 2-3 inches to be tuned right, exposing it to easy damage. I can't tell from the photo where the slide is now. I wish it was long enough and accessible enough to be useful, but I suspect that it is not.
The new price destroys a lot of the instrument's charm.
