Re: Major music deal for Royal guards
I'm sure one of the military band members can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that the US military bands are prohibited by statute from producing commercial recordings because the bands are funded by appropriated funds (taxpayer dollars), and as such, any recordings would considered government publications and are therefore in the public domain from the moment of publication.tofu wrote:While us Tubenetters know and appreciate the excellence of the US military bands I can't imagine the general public here going out and buying a recording of one of the premiere US service bands - which is a shame.
So I can't imagine the general public actually BUYING a recording of a US service band—premier or otherwise—either.
