I was wondering if any of you all have ever come across a gig bag which accomodates a Miraphone 186 with detachable bell. Any suggestions?
Thank you.

Stupid question, maybe: Won't a regular gigbag work if you leave the bell in place? Or, is it a recording [bell-front] bell? That may be what your problem is? If so, you will need to talk with one of the custom makers. They can be found at the top of the page under "shops".

I just sold a 186 with an upright detachable bell and included a Pro-Tec bag with the deal. It was a bag right out of Pro-Tec's catalog. Nuthin' special.
If you want a bag for a 186 with a removable recording bell, the Pro-Tec won't work. It might need to be custom made to fit.

Hey Ed,
Try Altieri gig bags: http://www.altieribags.com/br_tuba.html , I've heard they can custom make one to accommodate a front bell. Be prepared for $275+
See ya next month,
Eric

Duh! I should obviously have mentioned that the bell is bell front. Even I can figure out an upright bell should fit in a "normal case, er, I think!
