I just picked up a Conn 28K 4 valved Eb sousaphone from Tundratubist here on the board. She's a beauty and with the little bit of playing I did she plays very well. Kiltie,

No, the trim work is not original, the brass trim was an embellishment added by Borodi Music, in Cleveland. I don't recommend them.
