The internet provides the following information:
"Founded in 1928 by H. Schenkelaars in Eindhoven.
In 1988 Schenkelaars quit and some of their workers and their machines where taken over by a Musicalinstrumentdealer called Music All In. They Started Producing under the name First Brass. Probably have stopped production."
And so they have.
Still there are plenty of Schenkelaars horns around in the Netherlands, from trumpet to tuba. I owned a Schenkelaars sousaphone for a couple of years, it was very solidly build, playing it was like flogging a dead horse however. Their Bb tuba did have a fair reputation, never played one.
Also instruments of the "First Brass" brand are still around, most likely they are now constructed in China.
